It certainly has been an amazing summer in Central Texas! Temperatures have been below normal and rainfall has been above normal, and there is no complaining here! We have also been blessed by tons of activities and a mission team from FBC Sulphur Springs. God continues to be SO good!
We had our third Preview Worship Experience on July 11, and there were 48 in attendance including the team from Sulphur Springs. It was a great Sunday to close out a great week. The team from SSFBC helped us host a sports camp in Pfluger Park and go door-to-door in two residential areas of our city. The students all did an amazing job. Because of their work, we have several new contacts and have had the opportunity to follow-up with some families.
This weekend, August 8, is our fourth and final Preview Worship, and we are anticipating many new faces joining us. What this also means is that our full launch is just around the corner on September 12! As always, we are seeing God work and lead in so many ways, and we are anticipating all the things that are coming next. There is a team from Winnsboro making preparations to be here in September leading up to launch weekend. We honestly cannot put into words how exciting this all is, and we'll share more in a later update.
Speaking of our launch on September 12, we would LOVE to have you all join us that Sunday for a morning of celebration!
There are two vital pieces of the puzzle that we need you all to join us in prayer regarding:
- Join us in praying for God to reign in all that is COVID-19 and it's related issues. The world is living in fear, and the Church has such an amazing opportunity to reach people with the hope found only in Christ. In general, churches have struggled to manage through the pandemic, and starting a new church has been incredibly difficult. Pray with us as we seem to be headed into another round of issues surrounding gathering.
- Join us in praying for a location to use going forward from our launch. The hotel we have been utilizing has been good for monthly previews, but it presents a few issues for weekly gatherings. We are searching for a location to call "home" that will provide some financial relief, remove scheduling conflicts and allow space for growth.
Thank you all for your continued prayer.
For the love of Pflugerville,
Heath & Karen
